The VIBE + Interface Masterclass is a two-day advanced program designed for clinicians seeking greater control over long-term soft tissue stability at the intersection of restorative dentistry and periodontal surgery.
In dentistry, “VIBE” refers to the Vertical Incision Bilaminar Elevation technique developed by renowned aesthetic periodontist Dr. John Yu-Cheng Chu. It is an advanced microsurgical protocol designed to ensure predictable papilla reconstruction and soft tissue volume enhancement. The VIBE technique is specifically used in mucogingival and implant surgery to achieve stable, natural-looking results.
This masterclass covers VIBE (Vertical Incision Bilaminar Elevation) and MPT (Modified Platform Technique),advanced protocols for predictable papilla augmentation and soft tissue volume enhancement, and focuses on transforming compromised tissue conditions into stable biological support, enabling the transition from TU (Tissue Under-support) to TN (Tissue with Normal support). The program concludes by linking soft tissue outcomes back to aesthetic design, mapping out the entire process from design through augmentation to restoration.

Wet Lab: A Pig Jaw Under the Microscope
Supervised hands-on training for participants covering the VIBE (Vertical Incision Bilaminar Elevation) incision design and bilaminar elevation, MPT (Modified Platform Technique) vertical augmentation, and microsurgical suturing protocols. Principles of tissue thickness management, contour stability, the transition from TU to TN, and complication prevention are incorporated as live commentary throughout the wet lab.

John Yu-Cheng Chu
Dr. John Yu-Cheng Chu, DDS (Chung Shan Medical University, 2002), is the director of the CDC Dental Clinic (founded in 2009) and the founder of the Zimmer Orange Dental Re-Education Center (2014) and Bioemulator Taiwan (2020). He is a Specialist in Aesthetic Dentistry (TAAD 2024, JSAD 2025), an instructor in aesthetic dentistry at HKU, and a research fellow at Harvard, USC, and the University of Michigan. His recent article, “Camouflaging a Congenitally Missing Central Incisor,” appeared in the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry (2024). His clinical work focuses on microscope-assisted cosmetic and restorative dentistry and periodontal microsurgery.
