The VIBE + Interface Masterclass is a two-day advanced programme designed for clinicians seeking greater control over long-term soft tissue stability at the intersection of restorative dentistry and periodontal surgery.
In dentistry, „VIBE” refers to the Vertical Incision Bilaminar Elevation technique developed by acclaimed aesthetic periodontist Dr. John Yu-Cheng Chu. It is an advanced microsurgical protocol designed for predictable papilla reconstruction and soft tissue volume enhancement. The VIBE technique is specifically used in mucogingival and implant surgery to achieve stable, natural-looking results.
This masterclass covers VIBE (Vertical Incision Bilaminar Elevation) and MPT (Modified Platform Technique), advanced protocols for predictable papilla augmentation and soft tissue volume enhancement, and centres on transforming compromised tissue conditions into stable biological support, enabling the transition from TU (Tissue Under-support) to TN (Tissue with Normal support). The programme concludes by linking soft tissue outcomes back to aesthetic design, sequencing the full path from design through augmentation to restoration.
Clinicians new to CODA are encouraged to also attend the CODA Masterclass (February 4) for full context.
Programme
February 5 | Vertical Soft Tissue Augmentation (VIBE / MPT)
Morning:
- Biological rationale for vertical tissue enhancement
- VIBE (Vertical Incision Bilaminar Elevation): principles and indications
- Case selection and limitations
Afternoon:
Wet-Lab on Pig Jaw under the Microscope
Supervised participant practice covering VIBE (Vertical Incision Bilaminar Elevation) incision design and bilaminar elevation, MPT (Modified Platform Technique) vertical augmentation, and microsurgical suturing protocols. Principles of tissue thickness management, contour stability, TU to TN transition, and complication prevention are integrated as live commentary throughout the wet-lab.
February 6 | Integration: Design to Tissue Stability
Morning:
- Linking morphology and tissue volume
- Sequencing: design → augmentation → restoration
- Restorative–periodontal interface control
Afternoon:
- Advanced case presentations
- Long-term stability analysis
- Clinical problem-solving and discussion
- Q&A
