Smile Design and Occlusion: Integrating Function into Esthetic Restorations with Marcelo Calamita
This 3-day immersive program led by Dr. Marcelo Calamita is designed to provide clinicians with a systematic, clinically applicable approach to full-case planning and execution—where esthetics, function, and biology are treated as one integrated system.
The course goes far beyond theory. It is built around a high-intensity hands-on methodology, allowing participants to immediately translate concepts into clinical skills. Day 2 – Articulator Workflow (Hands-On Intensive)
- Facebow transfer and upper cast mounting
- Intermaxillary records and lower cast mounting

Day 3 – Full Rehabilitation & Occlusal Finishing
- Full-mouth rehabilitation concepts
- Hands-on occlusal analysis and adjustment
- Stabilization splint adjustment
- Clinical protocols for long-term success
HANDS-ON
This course is practice-driven, with structured, step-by-step exercises performed on models under expert supervision.
During the hands-on sessions, participants will:
- Perform intermaxillary records using deprogramming techniques (Leaf Gauge, therapeutic deprogrammers)
- Mount casts using a facebow on a semi-adjustable articulator
- Record and transfer maxillomandibular relationships accurately
- Complete full articulator mounting workflows (upper and lower models)
- Conduct occlusal analysis and adjustments on mounted cases
- Execute functional equilibration protocols
- Perform intraoral adjustment of stabilization splints
Each exercise is designed to simulate real clinical scenarios, helping clinicians develop muscle memory, precision, and decision-making skills.
Participants work on 3D models in a controlled environment, receiving continuous feedback and personalized guidance, ensuring correct execution of every step.
By the end of the course, participants will:
- Gain confidence in managing occlusion in esthetic cases
