Course Objective: This course aims to provide dental professionals with advanced techniques and strategies in composite layering, focusing on color and structure, the biomimetic concept, and the morphology of anterior teeth. Course Outline

Day 1

Lecture:  Color and Structure – The Advanced Directive Composite Layering Strategy and the Biomimetic Concept

* Understanding the importance of color and structure in composite layering

* Exploring the principles of the advanced directive composite layering strategy

* Introduction to the biomimetic concept in restorative dentistry

* Achieving natural esthetics with composite restorations

Hands-on: Practical Exercises

1. Color Mapping Exercise

* Participants will learn to identify the various shades and translucencies of natural teeth and match them with composite materials.

* Techniques for accurate shade selection and color mapping will be demonstrated and practiced.

2. Advanced Class 4 Composite Buildup

* Participants will learn the step-by-step process of a Class 4 composite restoration with an emphasis on advanced layering techniques.

* The importance of proper isolation, bonding, and contouring will be discussed and demonstrated.

Day 2

Lecture: Morphology of Anterior Teeth

* Detailed analysis of the morphology of anterior teeth, including incisors, canines, and premolars

* Understanding the importance of proper morphology in achieving esthetic and functional composite restorations

* Identifying common challenges and solutions when restoring anterior teeth with composites

Hands-on: Practical Exercises

1. The 13-Steps of Finish and Polish

* Participants will learn a systematic approach to finishing and polishing composite restorations, ensuring optimal esthetics and longevity.

* Techniques for achieving natural surface texture, anatomy, and shine will be demonstrated and practiced.

Course Requirements

* Participants must be licensed dental professionals (dentists, dental hygienists, dental therapists, or dental technicians).

* Basic knowledge of dental anatomy and composite materials is required.
